Bears’ interview with Todd Bowles bumped up to Thursday

The Bears will meet with Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles about their head coaching job Thursday rather than Saturday, a source confirmed to the Sun-Times late Wednesday.

The interview will happen at Halas Hall.

The reasoning has little to do with the Bears’ general manager timeline.

The Falcons, who were set to talk to Bowles on Thursday, needed to reschedule because owner Arthur Blank’s mother passed away. Her funeral is Thursday.

The Bears had scheduled Bowles for Saturday with hopes they’d have a general manager in place by then. Whether their GM timeline is accelerated is yet to be seen.
