A man was shot Thursday afternoon in the Hegewisch neighborhood on the Far South Side.
The man, 27, was walking in an alley in the 13400 block of South Avenue O about 2:35 p.m. when someone in a nearby pickup truck fired shots, according to Chicago Police. The truck then sped away.
The man was shot in the lower right leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
