A man charged with stealing packages from apartment building vestibules on the North Side twice in October has been ordered held on a $35,000 bond.

Julio Code, 49, of the 2600 block of North Halsted Street, faces two felony counts of residential burglary, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

The burglaries happened about 10:30 p.m. Oct. 11 in the 1800 block of North Winnebago Avenue and again about 5:50 a.m. Oct. 23 in the 1900 block of West Diversey Parkway, police said.

In both incidents, Code pried open the door of an apartment building and stole the delivered packages left in the vestibule, police said.

Surveillance photos and videos were released and Code was subsequently arrested Monday, police said.

On Tuesday, Code was ordered held on a $35,000 bond, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office. He is next scheduled to appear in court Nov. 9.
