DeKalb man facing 35 counts of sexually assaulting a child

A 40-year-old west suburban man has been charged with sexually assaulting a child over a period of more than two years.

Jeremy M. Westbrook, 40, faces 35 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, according to the DeKalb County sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office learned of a Department of Children and Family Services report involving a child under the age of 13 and Westbrook alleging sexual abuse, according to the sheriff’s office.

Westbrook, of the 1300 block of North Annie Glidden Road in DeKalb, allegedly sexually abused the child between April 2012 and March 2015, according to the statement.

He was being held at the DeKalb County Corrections Division, where he was awaiting a bond hearing, according to the sheriff’s office.
