Woman critically injured in East Side shooting

A woman was shot in the head and let in critical condition Saturday night in the East Side neighborhood on thecity’s Far South Side.

The 23-year-old woman was a passenger in a vehicle near 109th Street and Green Bay Avenue when someone behind the vehicle opened fire and hit her just after 7 p.m., the police said.

The driver took her to Advocate Trinity Hospital,and she was transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition.
