A man was killed in a shooting early Sunday in south suburban Markham.

Christopher Hooper, 26, was shot about 1 a.m. near Adrianna’s Sportsbar, 16300 Dixie Highway, according to Markham police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Hooper, of the 800 block of Carnation Lane in Matteson, was pronounced dead at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey at 1:45 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

Police could not immediately confirm if anyone else was injured.

The venue was hosting an event Saturday featuring recording artist Future. The south suburban sports bar has featured popular artists such as Lil Wayne in the past.

Illinois State Police were also dispatched to the scene to assist Markham police, a spokeswoman for the agency said.

Further details were not available.
