St. Edward and IC Prep rebooted the weather-delayed baseball season Monday without much offense, but with plenty of controversy.

The Green Wave won the Metro Suburban West opener for both teams 1-0 when umpires ruled pitcher Stone Brinkman had balked in the bottom of the eighth inning with one out and St. Edward’s Gino Domel on third base. Brinkman was ruled to have stepped toward third base without throwing there.
