Timely hitting and solid pitching were the main ingredients that keyed Elk Grove’s 3-2 win over Dundee-Crown in nonconference baseball action in Carpentersville Monday afternoon.
Winning pitching Christian Camacho excelled on the mound for the Grenadiers. Camacho, who tossed a no-hitter for 3 innings, gave up 1 run on 2 hits in 6 innings of work. He struck out 4 with 3 walks. Giving up an unearned run in the seventh on his own error, Jonathan Maday was able to earn the save.
