Huntley freshman Tiffany Giese had been struggling for most of the season coming into Friday’s Fox Valley Conference crossover game against Crystal Lake Central.

With the game tied at one in the second inning, Giese, the No. 9 hitter, stepped into the batter’s box against travel teammate Megan Mahaffy with the bases loaded. The freshman outfielder hit the first pitch back up the middle, driving in two runs, as Huntley was able to hold off the Tigers for a 3-2 win.
