Cary-Grove tops Jacobs

As tough as the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division is this season, no team wants to start conference play 0-2. Behind some timely hitting, solid defense, and clutch pitching, the Trojans evened their conference record after a 5-3 victory over Jacobs in a FVC Valley Division game at Cary-Grove High School.

Jacobs entered Friday’s game as one of the hottest teams in the Valley Division and kept that going in the first inning. Taylor Belo started the game with a leadoff triple and would score on an RBI groundout.
