Bears sign former Titans, Cowboys DE Lavar Edwards

The Bears have signed defensive end Lavar Edwards, a fifth-round draft pick by Tennessee in 2013 who played in 11 games over two seasons with the Titans and Cowboys.

The 6-4, 275-pound Gretna, La. native had two sacks, three tackles-for-loss and two quarterback hurries for the Cowboys in the preseason. He was waived by Dallas and claimed by the Raiders, who waived him last week to make room for Aldon Smith.

Edwards played in seven games, with one start for the Titans in 2013. He played in four games for the Cowboys last year. He has 10 tackles, one tackle-for-loss and one pass breakup in regular season games.
