18-year-old man wounded in South Loop shooting

A man was shot in the South Loop neighborhood on the South Side Friday afternoon.

An 18-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 100 block of East Cullerton Street at 3:50 p.m. when a person approached and shot him, police said.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks, and was taken to Northwestern Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.
