A boy was shot Monday afternoon in the Morgan Park neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The shooting occurred in the 11300 block of South Throop Street at 2:45 p.m., police said.

The 17-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition was stabilized.

The boy is a gang member, police said.
