A 38-year-old man was shot to death in the Austin neighborhood Friday night on the West Side.

Hernando Caster was on a sidewalk in the 4900 block of West Huron about 9 p.m. when two gunmen walked up and shot him in the back and thighs, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Caster was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 10:58 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 5300 block of West Washington.

The shooting was thought to be gang-related.
