A male was found with a gunshot wound to the head late Thursday in northwest Indiana.

About 8:50 p.m., police responding to a call in the 2100 block of West 5th Avenue in Gary found a male with a gunshot wound to the head in a grassy area near an alley, according to a statement from Gary Police.

Police said he was taken to an area hospital, but his condition and other additional details were not immediately available.
