Woman, 56, shot in Englewood

A 56-year-old woman was shot in the hip Tuesday evening in Englewood on the South Side.

She was sitting on the front porch of a home in the 6700 block of South Parnell at 6:35 p.m. when shots were fired and she was struck, according to Chicago Police.

The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where her condition stabilized, police said.

She wasn’t the intended target, police said.
