Blackhawks versus Senators game delayed because of a hole in the boards

Chicago’s game in Ottawa was delayed during the first period because of a hole in the boards. Yeah, you read that right.

Check it out.

Good thing they decided to get that thing fixed. It looks just big enough to swallow a puck … or a mouse.

Replays showed that the hole was caused by an errant shot off the stick of the Senators’ Cody Ceci.

The delay came midway through the first period and lasted about 15 minutes. It was worth the wait for Ottawa, who scored seconds after play resumed to take a 2-0 lead.
