Man shot in chest in Auburn Gresham

A man was shot Monday afternoon in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

The shooting happened at 12:43 p.m. in the 500 block of West 87th Street, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

The 23-year-old victim was shot in the chest, and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
