Man shot waiting to cross street in Austin

A man was shot while waiting to cross the street Sunday morning in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

About 7:05 a.m., the 34-year-old was standing in the 300 block of South Laramie, waiting to cross over to West Gladys, when an SUV pulled up and a male got out and shot him in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
