The Congress Parkway bridge over the Chicago River will close for about five hours early Friday, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation.

The bridge is scheduled to close to traffic at 12:01 a.m. and reopen by 5 a.m. Friday, according to CDOT.

The closure is for routine maintenance and to test the bridge lifting systems.

Traffic will be detoured around the closure via Wells, Harrison and Canal.
