A male in a black mask broke into a salon and spa early Sunday in the Lincoln Park neighborhood near Lathrop Homes on the North Side.

The burglar used a crowbar to break the front window of the salon and stole a cash box at 12:39 a.m. in the 2600 block of North Clybourn, Chicago Police said.

The amount of cash inside the box was unknown, police said.

Area North detectives are investigating.
