The Bears re-signed defensive lineman John Jenkins to a one-year deal on Saturday.

He had eight tackles in eight games last season, his first with the team. Jenkins has 121 tackles in three seasons with the Saints, one with the Seahawks and one with the Bears.

Jenkins, who played at Georgia, was a third-round pick of the Saints in 2013. Bears general manager Ryan Pace was in the Saints’ front office at the time.

The 6-3, 327-pounder will compete for the backup job behind Eddie Goldman.
