When word came out a few weeks ago that Mike Ditka was going to wear a Packers sweater in a TV commercial, Bears fans were irate. They vilified their beloved coach for siding with the enemy and selling out.

Turns out, maybe the coach knew exactly what he was doing.

The Packers, who were 6-0 at the time, have lost two games since the ad began airing.

And, don’t think Da Coach doesn’t know all about “The Curse of Ditka.”

“I know, I’ve seen it,” Ditka told the Sun-Times on Tuesday. “It’s all over social media. Listen, I love [Packers coach] Mike McCarthy. He’s a good friend, a good guy. I love Aaron Rodgers. Actually, I really like the Packers. I played against some of the greatest Packers teams in history under Vince Lombardi with [Paul] Hornung and [Jim] Taylor. So, I don’t want to hear when people say this and that. I have great respect for the Packers. But I’m a Bear. I’m a Halas Bear. That’s what I am.”
