ST. LOUIS — Marc Mariani told Zach Miller he started him on his fantasy team Sunday.

“I called him a liar,” the Bears’ tight end said.

The Bears’ receiver was telling the truth — even if he’s assembled a team made up of only his teammates — and was rewarded handsomely. Miller caught five passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns, including an 87-yarder on the Bears’ first drive.

Miller, who ran a 4.47 40-yard dash at his pro day in 2009, outran everyone on the field, using the video board to show him who was on his

heels.

“I’ve always been able to run a little bit, it’s just been a while since people have seen it because I haven’t played in three or four years,” he said. “I just told these guys it was a matter of not getting caught.”

His two-yard touchdown in the second quarter meant Miller had caught the Bears’ last three scores, starting with his one-handed, 25-yard game-winner Monday.

“He has been a big, good producer,” coach John Fox said. “And I think he’s earned his production as we go.”
