These are busy times for Kristin Cavallari, the wife of Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. She has her own line of shoes and jewelry. She has a book coming out. She has an App. She spends most days chasing around her two sons—Camden (3) and Jaxon (16 months)—while their dad is away playing football. Oh, and she’s pregnant with their third child, a girl, due around mid-November.

Cavallari found time to talk with Cricket’s Circle about her life and her relationship with her husband.

Some highlights from the interview:

During football season, I don’t work very much, so I can be home and focus on taking care of the boys. But during Jay’s off-season, we swap roles, and he stays home with the boys while I focus on work and do any necessary traveling. It’s just worked out this way timing-wise, which has been amazing.

On why they split time between Chicago and Nashville:

We split our time between Chicago and Nashville. Jay went to Vanderbilt, and the first weekend we hung out, we went to Nashville, and I fell in love with it. It’s such a great place to raise a family: There is always something fun to do and the people are SO nice – they genuinely care when they ask how your day is. It’s so warm and friendly, and I absolutely love it.

On their sex life:

It’s so important to make time for each other, even if it’s just waiting to eat dinner after the kids go to bed. And even if it’s takeout, light candles and make an effort to connect. Also, you gotta have sex – men need it, and it’s important for the relationship. It doesn’t have to be all the time, but you have to get it in there sometimes!
