Health update: What do powerful City Council Finance Committee chief Ald. Ed Burke (14th) and Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy have in common?

Here’s what.

Both men, who recently underwent surgery and hospitalization, are doing tip top in the recovery department.

Burke, known as the dean of the City Council, underwent prostate cancer surgery. McCarthy suffered a heart attack and underwent angioplasty.

Although McCarthy attended a press conference Monday, he still has more healing to do at home.

And Burke’s wife, Illinois Supreme Court Justice Anne Burke — who calls herself Nurse Ratched during her hubby’s recovery — tells Sneed she has ordered him back to work.
