An 18-year-old man has died after he was shot while biking Sunday afternoon in Gage Park on the Southwest Side.

Michael Fox was biking in the park in the 5600 block of South Saint Louis Avenue and yelled toward someone sitting on a bench who then fired shots striking him in the abdomen, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he died about 1 a.m. Monday, the medical examiner’s office said.

The shooter fled the scene through the park, according to police. No one was in custody.
