Un hombre recibió dos disparos cuando enfrentaba a personas que intentaban robar el convertidor catalítico de su automóvil en West Rogers Park el lunes por la mañana, dijo la Policía de Chicago.

El hombre, de 54 años, se acercó a los ladrones alrededor de las 6 a.m. después de ver a alguien debajo del auto en la cuadra 7200 al norte de Oakley Avenue, dijo la policía.

Uno de los ladrones abrió fuego e impactó al hombre dos veces en el cuerpo, dijo la policía. Fue llevado al Hospital Saint Francis en Evanston, donde figuraba en buenas condiciones.

La policía no reportó arrestos.
