A 35-year-old motorcyclist died after a hit-and-run crash Monday night in southwest suburban Lockport.
Robert F. Haag was riding his motorcycle northbound on State Street approaching East 8th Street about 6:50 p.m. Monday when a light-colored, four-door car turned in front of him, causing him to lose control and fall off the bike, Lockport police Lt. Ron Huff said.
Huff said it appeared Haag’s body, but not his bike, struck the car, causing head trauma.
The driver of the car, described as a middle-aged man with dark hair, took off after the crash, Huff said. About five or six people witnessed the incident.
Haag was pronounced dead at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox at 6:57 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Will County coroner’s office.
Anyone with information about the crash should call Lockport police at (815) 838-2132.
