Man dies after East Chicago crash

A 36-year-old man died Wednesday morning after a crash in northwest Indiana.

The man was pronounced dead at St. Catherine’s Hospital in East Chicago at 7:21 a.m., according to the Lake County coroner’s office.

He suffered blunt force trauma in a crash in the 2400 block of Michigan Street in East Chicago, according to the coroner’s office.

His name was not being released pending notification of his family.

East Chicago police could not immediately be reached to provide information about the crash.
