Illinois 31 will be closed Monday morning for repairs to the railroad tracks south of Chicago Street in Elgin.
The closure will begin at 7 a.m. Monday, weather permitting, and will last until Oct. 3, according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
During the repairs, Northbound Illinois 31 will be routed east on U.S. 20, north on Illinois 25, northwest on Villa Street and west on Kimball Street to reconnect with Illinois 31, according to the statement.
Southbound traffic will be routed east on Chicago Street, south on Illinois 25 and west on U.S. 20 to reconnect with Illinois 31, according to the statement.
