Johnny Manziel sure knows how to draw a crowd, and that includes at Texas A&M’s pro day.

Both former President George H.W. Bush and current Texas Gov. Rick Perry were be on hand at College Station today to watch the quarterback go through workouts, the Forth Worth Star-Telegram’s Charean Williams reports.

Bush, whose presidential library and museum is on the A&M campus, got up close and personal to Manziel on Wednesday as well. Unfortunately, the NFL cropped off Bush’s feet, so we can’t see what kind of crazy socks he’s wearing.

This all seems like a lot of hoopla over a glorified practice, and NFL.com’s Chase Goodbread put it best:

The presence of a former president, of course, presumably means added security at Manziel’s pro day and a secret service detail, as well. All to see a guy throw a football in shorts — to uncovered wide receivers.

Even the Bush’s dogs made an appearance:
