Christine Jones, a Republican candidate for governor of Arizona, likes her guns. She just doesn’t like look at her target.

In an interview with Phoenix television station KSAZ — that took place at a local gun range — Jones talked about a number of issues, including same-sex marriage and marijuana.

On same-sex marriage, Jones says she doesn’t support it, but she’d respect the public’s vote on the issue. The same goes for recreational marijuana use.

The most eye-popping comments came when talking about guns.

“I don’t change clothes. I don’t change glasses,” Jones said. “I often shoot one-handed. I often shoot with my eyes closed.”

Shocked, as he should have been, the reporter followed up on why she’d shoot with her eyes closed.

“Because chances are if somebody attacks you it’s gonna be in the night,” Jones said.

It turns out Jones isn’t a very good shot, only nailing the target in the shoulder once during the interview.
