Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) is making a bold prediction. Not only is Mitt Romney going to run for president in 2016, but Chaffetz says he’s going to win.

“I think he actually is gonna run for president. He probably doesn’t want me to say that,” Chaffetz said to Chris Matthews on MSNBC’s “Hardball” on Monday.

“A hundred times he says he’s not, but Mitt Romney has always accomplished what he’s set out to do. I think he’s proven right on a lot of stuff. I happen to be in the camp that thinks he’s actually going to run, and I think he will be the next president of the United States,” Chaffetz said.

It’s an interesting prediction, considering Romney isn’t even on the radar in current polls.

A new poll released today by Quinnipiac University has former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan (Wis.) as being the closest GOP challengers if put up against Hillary Clinton.

But if Romney does all of a sudden decide to launch a 2016 bid, he has one thing going for him right now: Americans say we’d be better off if he won in 2012
