When it comes to the 2016 presidential race, Rupert Murdoch has called Mitt Romney “a terrible candidate.”

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, said another Romney run would be the “definition of insanity.”

But what about Hillary Clinton’s advisers? To them, it smells like a victory for Democrats.

In an exclusive interview with the New York Daily News, advisers say there’s no doubt Clinton has a better shot of victory against Romney than former Gov. Jeb Bush.

But one former Obama staffer, who also worked on Clinton’s book tour last summer, took it a step further.

“I would like to run against Mitt Romney in every election forever,” Tommy Vietor told the Daily News.

And the desire for Romney goes beyond the geographic advantage Bush would have in Florida, a state with 29 electoral votes.

“When you have Romney against Clinton, you can’t really make the argument that it’s time to move on,” said one Clinton adviser. “You’ve got two people who have run before.”
