Gov. Bruce Rauner headed to Springfield over the weekend and went cruising down the highway in his “rolling trash can” — the 1993 Volkswagen van he used in his campaign ads.

His dogs, Pumpkin and Stella, accompanied him on the trip, which was documented on Twitter:
