Police: Man may have shot himself in Austin

A man who may have shot himself in the Austin neighborhood walked into a west suburban hospital Friday night, police said.

The man was shot in the left thigh about 9:15 p.m. in the 5500 block of West Rice, police said.

He took himself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where his condition had stabilized, police said.

Police said the gunshot wound may be self-inflicted.
