A Glencoe estate has been sold for $19.5 million, Chicago Real Estate Daily of Crain’s Chicago business is reporting.

The 15,800-square-foot lakefront property’s sale price is likely record for a Chicago-area residential property. The home on Glade Road was designed by Howard Van Doren Shaw.

According to Crain’s, public records show a trust benefiting David Helfand, co-president of Chicago-based Equity Group, sold the home to a Delaware limited-liability company. The trust paid $6.8 million for the property in 2002.
