Honey Boo Boo’s mom dating child molester threatens show’s future

It’s not like “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star, “Mama June” Shannon hasn’t made poor decisions in the past. However, the news that she’s dating a convicted child molester named Mark McDaniel has a lot of folks very upset — no one more than the honchos at TLC, which airs the trashy, but popular reality series.

According to TMZ, McDaniel has recently completed serving a 10-year prison sentence for forcing an 8-year-old to perform oral sex. What makes matters worse, the unidentified victim was allegedly related to Shannon!

Apparently, Shannon’s relationship with McDaniel is not exactly new. She supposedly dated him at the time he molested the child, and recently renewed the romance after her relationship with Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson went kaput.

Because of his conviciton, McDaniel was forced to be enrolled as a registered sex offender in the state of Georgia.

In a statement, a TLC representative issued a statement which said, “TLC is not currently in production on ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.’ We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series.”

As for June Shannon, she has yet to comment.
