SPRINGFIELD — The state of Illinois has formed a task force to advise on responding to the Ebola virus.
Gov. Pat Quinn’s office said Wednesday that he established the task force by executive order with the Illinois Department of Public Health. IDPH Director Dr. LaMar Hasbrouck and Deputy Governor Cristal Thomas will co-chair the task force. Members include of physicians, nurses and officials from health care groups.
The governor’s office says the task force will help make sure Illinois makes a coordinated effort to communicate with the public about any situation that involves testing for Ebola. Members also will help designate treatment centers and assess the state’s readiness to respond.
