Girl, 16, reported missing from DCFS group home

Police are asking the public’s help to find a 16-year-old girl who went missing from a West Ridge neighborhood group home nearly two weeks ago.

Saphire Redman is a ward of the state who ran away Oct. 11 from a Department of Children and Family Services group home in the 6200 block of North Talman, Area North detectives said.

She has been a victim of human trafficking in the past, and frequents the South and West sides, and suburbs, police said.

Redman is described as a 5-foot-9, 140-pound black girl with brown eyes, black hair and medium complexion, police said. She has a lip piercing and was last seen wearing a blue and red hoodie, and blue jeans.
