Woman sexually assaulted on porch of Grand Boulevard apartment

The victim was smoking a cigarette on the porch about 5:50 p.m. at her home in the 100 block of East 44th Street when an unknown male wearing a partial ski mask and gloves grabbed her from behind, Area Central detectives said in a community alert.

The suspect then forced her into the apartment and sexually assaulted her, police said. He ran away and was not in custody as of early Monday evening.

The suspect is described as a black male between 6-foot and 6-foot-4 with a medium building, wearing a black jacket, dark shirt and black pants, police said. He had a tattoo of a star on the right side of his neck, possibly with the letter “S” inside.

Anyone with information should call detectives at (312) 747-8380.
