A woman was shot in the leg Monday morning in the South Shore neighborhood.

The 22-year-old was standing outside about 9:40 a.m. in the 7600 block of South Coles, when a male fired shots in her direction, police said. The shooter then ran away.

The woman suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg and was taken to Trinity Hospital, where her condition had stabilized, police said.
