Woman sexually assaulted in west suburban forest preserve

(MAYWOOD) A woman was sexually assaulted Friday night in a forest preserve in the western suburbs, near Maywood and Forest Park.

The young woman was walking alone westbound on Madison Street when a man forced her into a nearby forest preserve about 11:45 p.m. and sexually assaulted her, according to a statement from the Cook County sheriff’s office.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, about 150 pounds with short hair, according to the statement. He was wearing dark jeans and a hoodie.
