SHARE 15-year-old boy shot in Chatham

A 15-year-old boy was hurt in a drive-by shooting Tuesday morning in the South Side Chatham neighborhood.

The teen was in the 8300 block of South Ellis about 8 a.m. when someone in a dark-colored minivan fired shots, striking him in the hand, police said.

He was taken to Jackson Park Hospital, where he is listed in good condition.

Police said the shooting is thought to be gang-related.
