Bobby Hitz knows boxing, plays gym owner on ‘Chicago P.D.’

It is a bit of type-casting, but at least Bobby Hitz knows his way around a boxing gym! The longtime boxing promoter and owner of PJ Clarke’s on North State Street, will be seen in the Wednesday episode of “Chicago P.D.” playing a guy named “Mac,” the owner of a boxing gym in Our Town. Hitz, who will host his ever-popular “Fight Night at Horseshoe Hammond” on Nov. 29, has showcased his acting abilities in a number of TV series that lensed here, including the former Fox show “Mob Doctor,” in which he played the bodyguard who protected William Forsythe’s Constantine Alexander character.

“Chicago P.D.” airs at 9 p.m. Wednesday on WMAQ-Channel 5.
