Eminem raps about punching Lana Del Rey

Eminem is sure to be getting a lot of social media backlash for his portion of the “SHADY CXVPHER” mega-freestyle he and other Shady Records artists released on Monday.

The controversy is over the verse Eminem raps: “But I may fight for gay rights, especially if the d-ke is more of a knockout than Janay Rice/ Play nice? B—- I’ll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance/ ‘Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens.”

The Rice reference, of course, is to disgraced NFL star Ray Rice’s brutal elevator attack on his then fiancee (now wife), Janay. That incident, captured on video, outraged the public and led to Rice being suspended from the NFL.

While Eminem has previously dissed a number of stars, including Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, it surprised many he would take on Del Rey, who has praised him as the “master of lyrics” in the past.
