Ten things I’ll be looking for on college football fields from here to there and everywhere in Saturday’s Week 12 action:

1. Let’s see — again — what you’ve got out of a bye week, Bill Cubit. The best coach on Illinois’ staff, offensive coordinator Cubit, was masterful leading into the Illini’s last home game, against Minnesota. He unleashed backup quarterback Reilly O’Toole, far from a gifted runner, in the run game, and the result was a 28-24 victory over Minnesota that took most everyone by surprise. Now starter Wes Lunt is back, but the team’s best two offensive linemen, left tackle Simon Cvijanovich and guard Teddy Karras, are out for the Iowa game. What will Cubit devise to give his offense a chance to protect Lunt and upset the Hawkeyes? Read more
