Let’s see — again — what you’ve got out of a bye week, Bill Cubit.The best coach on Illinois’ staff, offensive coordinator Cubit, was masterful leading into the Illini’s last home game, against Minnesota. He unleashed backup quarterback Reilly O’Toole, far from a gifted runner, in the run game, and the result was a 28-24 victory over Minnesota that took most everyone by surprise. Now starter Wes Lunt is back, but the team’s best two offensive linemen, left tackle Simon Cvijanovich and guard Teddy Karras, are out for the Iowa game.
