An elderly man who suffers from dementia walked away from his West Englewood home Monday night and has not returned.

Hercules Chaney, 83, left his home in the 6900 block of South Ada about 9:45 p.m., according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police.

Chaney, who suffers from dementia, is described as black man with gray hair, brown eyes and a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a black knit hat, blue hooded coat, blue jeans and black shoes, police said.

He likes to walk in alleys in the area of 63rd Street and Halsted, police said.
