Bank robbed on Far South Side

A bank was robbed Thursday afternoon in the Morgan Park neighborhood on the Far South Side.

A suspect walked into a bank about 3:30 p.m. in the 11800 block of South Marshfield and implied he had a weapon while handing the teller a note demanding money, police said.

Maps show a Fifth Third Bank branch is located on that block.

The robber, a male of unknown age, then ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. No one was injured.

The FBI could not be immediately reached for additional details on the robbery.
